Who We Are
My name is Jim Krautkremer and I’ve been an avid golfer for over 40 years. My home course is Birkdale Golf Club located in Huntersville North Carolina. In the spring and fall I usually get out and play a couple of times a week. During the squelching hot summer months, I like to walk a quick nine at dusk. We get to play year round hear and so my winter golf outings just depend on the weather.
After starting and scaling and selling several successful businesses, I decided to dive into content creation in the golf niche. It began with Golf Plus which is my YouTube channel. Thankfully it experienced exponential growth in its first year with millions and millions of views.
We showcase biographies and documentaries of the world’s greatest golfers. You will get an insider’s look at the world’s greatest golfers, their lifestyles off the course as well as their incredible charity work.
Most recently, it made sense to expand the brand so I started a website called Golf Plus News. We have a section for travel and lifestyle to assist you in expanding your golf experiences. As well as breaking golf news that you need to know. Be sure to check out the gear section for product reviews and special deals.
If you want to connect via social media, click on each: Facebook Instagram Twitter
Writing content for this website has been an absolute pleasure, thanks for checking it out.

What Inspired Me
These two inspiring stories inspired me to grow the game of golf and may inspire you as well.
Jack Nicklaus Autograph – Memory of a Lifetime
AT BAY HILL INVITATIONAL
In the early 2000’s I was fortunate enough to volunteer at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Invitational (now called the Arnold Palmer Invitational). As a reminder, this was when Tiger Woods was on a run and dominating golf tournaments.
During the practice round, we were working the gigantic scoreboard between holes eighteen and sixteen. The tee box of the par 5 sixteenth hole is set far back from where the patrons can access, so it’s pretty good viewing for us volunteers.
Jack Nicklaus had just teed off and I saw my chance to meet the GOAT. I ran out into the course just beyond the tee box to ask him for an autograph. It was a huge advantage for us volunteers because no patrons had access to this little area. I took off my volunteer hat and said “Mr Nicklaus, may I please have your autograph?” It was an honor and I’m appreciative of Mr. Nicklaus signing my cap.
Dream Fulfilled at The Masters
AT THE MASTERS
It was 2016, the year of the Jordan Spieth meltdown at The Masters. We put together a group of guys to attend the tournament. To make it special, we decided to fly private from West Palm Beach to Augusta. Even though I live about two and a half hours from Augusta, I flew down to West Palm to make the trip with the guys. I mean, come on… this is a bucket list trip for sure!
We booked some space at Club Magnolia to have some fun before and after the tournament that day. As we were smoking some cigars, Rocky Patel came over to chat. One of the legends in the cigar world. He pulled out a duffel bag and said, “here you go guys, these are from my private collection”. We spent the next hour hanging with Rocky and talking golf. It was incredible. He is such a nice guy!
I’ll never forget walking onto the grounds of Augusta. It hit me all at once and I stopped in my tracks. I’m actually walking the holy grounds of Augusta! I’ll admit that a tear came to my eye. The bucket list was fulfilled and we had the most incredible time. Pimento cheese sandwiches and swag galore.
Amen corner is spectacular on television, but there is a special energy in the air when you walk the course in person. There is literally not one single leaf or blade of grass out of place on the entire golf course.
I sincerely hope that if you ever get the chance to go to The Masters, either for the first time or a return visit, that you make it happen. It’s a life changing experience for a golf fanatic.
